The Nightmare tries to scare you into salvation
For 14 years, GUTS Church has been on the move -- on the move to bring Tulsa youths to Jesus, that is.
Every October, teenagers come from all over to go through the Nightmare, a gruesome haunted house of sorts put on by GUTS Youth Church. The Nightmare is geared to show kids what a life without Jesus is like, thus persuading them to . . . perhaps join their church.
Teens (no one under 12 is allowed) will stand in line for anywhere from 30 minutes to four hours, depending on the time of day and month -- more and more teens come to Nightmare as October draws to a close.
GUTS plays videos and music for the kids to keep them entertained as they wait. There's also a game where the object is to throw a tennis ball into a basket -- winners thus get to skip the entire line and go right to the front.
