Fake Elections, Fake Candidates & Real War
by AL MARTIN (AL MARTIN RAW.COM)
(5-24-16) Just like a scripted stage show or electoral theater, it’s election time again and voters have a choice between Fake Republican Donald Trump and Fake Democrat Hillary Clinton – or in the words of Alabama Governor George Wallace -- “There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats.” In the past Fake Candidates pretending to be third party candidates included Ron Paul, Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan and even Ralph Nader – none of whom were ever meant to be (s)elected.
The problem is a deeply flawed electoral process this country maintains. Also the system is rigged in that none of the delegates ever really become “pledged” to a candidate, which means that everything moves to the convention process. That’s where the backroom deals are made and where delegates can effectively switch sides. This includes the so-called “super delegates.”
So does the popular vote ever make a difference? Yes, in terms of who makes it to the convention or which candidates survive into the convention.
