What you're going to get is another watered-down compromise on restriction of high capacity magazines and further restrictions on ammunition -- plus the establishment of a national database, which is going to come under ObamaCare and which one would think would run up into constitutional issues, but apparently isn't, because it's so widely suppported, so that mentally incompetent people can't buy guns.

The Tea Party Republicans have tried to make an issue out of the fact that veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan will be disallowed gun ownership because they suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

They say now the government is going to estabish a database on the mentally incompetent and they ask -- who sets the standard for mentally incompetent?

The reason it's moving forward is that it has support in both parties and it has enormous public support, so that any group that tries to challenge it constitutionally is going to get singled out.
